I love the Constitution. My thread is a trollish attempt to get discussion on what the Constitution is and how much support there is for it in todays day and age. Thanks for being moved by it.

30 or more years ago, with less population and post WWII economy growth, in much simpler and less technological times, most people could make a living in almost any job position. However, during this time, jobs have become more complex, technology appears in almost all job positions, and we saw lots of inflation...good times! Many people have not prepared themselves for this new scenario; they lack education, lack career focus, repetitive production jobs are disappearing, and they have been left sucking dust. Problem is we have tens of millions in this situation, who can't find jobs, who are not qualified for many of today's jobs, who have many years left until retirement, or are in retirement ages without enough money. They're like deer in headlights; they have no idea how to get past this challenge! What's worse is most of these people want government support but they don't wish to trade their production for welfare. So they provide nothing, want everything, and their numbers are growing; unsustainable! Thanks for your comments...

Generally speaking both Republicans consider high income earners to be those earning over a million dollars per year and Democrats believe its someone earning over $250K per year. Key is the fact that income does not actually relate to wealth as wealth is related to net assets and not income.

Ooohh yeah--the site you tried to cross-link from was rather immature and grotesque about screwing people who cross-link from their site. Not nice. Mak and I talked about it. I didn't know sites did that, either. I though it was rather juvenile of them to do it in that manner. What got cross-linked was some rather nasty porn. I had figured it was a virus, but the result was the same--something was done in your name that you hadn't intended.

Tell me that was a virus that got into your system and you didn't actually think you could post that on Word Association...

Aha! Got you curious. The "duty to the state" phrase comes from Orwell's 1984. Actually, it's a reference to having sex rather than having children, but that's pretty close, especially since the only reason for sex in the novel was to produce children for the state.

~ Strive to be kind, honest and fair. (pick two) ~
Fair is impartial, without favoritism or bias. If you charge any person the same for what you provide, your deal is fair. Life isn't fair and one person may do more with what you provide. Charging the man who does more a greater price doesn't make life fair.
It does mean your deal is not.
