It is something the moderators are trying out. Previously they would just warn and thread ban individuals one at at time. Unfortunately that often didn't work and they ended up having to close the thread when things got out of hand. They hope that a central warning like this might bring these threads back on track.

Still, you will likely find that certain threads will have more flexibility than others. Overall, the mods try not to interfere. If the topic doesn't get too far of track or the insults don't get too personal, the mods will often not even step in. They plan to only step in with a warning like this when the insults or back and forth gets out of hand.

After a few weeks of this, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know what effect you think this has on the forums - good or bad. I'd like another person's perspective on whether this is a benefit or a harm to the forum.

      Thanks,

Thank you for the message. I have been busy this summer with both the boys home all day, vacation, and back to school shopping.
I'm ready for school to start!

Well there certainly are sides here….and I am sure some people will just use it negatively to get back at those they do not like. Glad your back and posting…...

I think I noticed it last week. I saw in the talk forum that people had requested it. Don't you like it?
I love the ban feature….I usually don't like banning people but I could not take that sick Megadeath anymore.

Good to hear you had a good day. My father was a Marine. Sgt Maj. He did 4 tours in Viet Nam, he was in one of the surviving flame thrower Shermans on Iwo Jima, did Gitmo, and was stationed all over the world.
It is a wonderful thing you did to allow the other Marine to have the flag raising honor.

We just stayed home. My partner had to go out of town for the week for work, so we were getting her packed, the rental car picked up, and grocery shopping done. I called my mom, and then my brother to chat about dad, and we laughed, and cried. Other than that I watched the birds in the yard, then fed the fish in the lake. Pretty run of the mill.

The wolf is just a stock photo that I love. The woman on the left is me, last Christmas.

Hope you had a good Memorial Day.
