Default Hamas and the Future of the Middle East

When I first heard about Hamas getting elected, I figured no big deal, they'll be gone eventually. Then today, as thought swam around in the chaos that is my brain I realized this could cause some huge problems.

Currently, I see three possibilities for what a Hamas controlled Palestine will end up doing, and causing.

1. Being saddled with the responsibilities of salvaging a bankrupt country, and taking care of its people take up all of Hamas' time and energy.

2. Hamas attacks Israel, people do not directly intervene, Palestine either destroys Israel, Israel repels the attack, or Israel turns around and destroys Palestine.

3. Hamas attacks Israel, people DO directly intervene, and retaliate against Palestine. This pisses off the rest of the Arab countries, starting WW3.

What do you think?

Default ...

alll possible, except erase the "hamas will destroy israel"...this might sound cocky, but hamas can't destroy us(that's why they use suicide bombing)...if they could have, they would already did(just like the rest of our neighburs.). WW3 will not happend because the arab countries know there's no chance of them winning against the west(well maybe iran doesen't know),and will do anything to calm down thier civilains, maybe by attacking israel.but again, israel will hit hard, and with no mercy.

Default .

Honestly, I don't care so much about the fact that the Arab world would begin to fight, but more what happens when the nukes start to fly.

Default Here`s another possiblity

Hamas, because of PA funding freezes, is unable to pay for policing, schools, hospitals, etc...

Palestinian public opinion begins to shift back towards Fatah...

Open street fighting breaks out between the two factions....

Israel points and says "Look! Civil war! These Palestinians, who can`t even govern themselves, do not deserve any more land." and promptly shreads whatever is left of the `roadmap`.
