BEIRUT, Lebanon — Hezbollah rammed an Israeli warship with an unmanned aircraft rigged with explosives Friday, setting it ablaze after Israeli warplanes smashed Lebanon's links to the world one by one and destroyed the headquarters of the Islamic guerrilla group's leader.

The attack on the warship off Beirut's Mediterranean coast — which left four sailors missing — was the most dramatic incident on a violent day in the conflict that erupted suddenly Wednesday and appeared to be careening out of control despite pleas from world leaders for restraint on both sides.

"You wanted an open war and we are ready for an open war," Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said in a taped statement. He vowed to strike even deeper into Israel with rockets.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah is a liar, they aren't ready for an open war. They have neither the logistics, weapon systems, or majority support for an open war. Why are we listening to liars like that?

It's much more complicated than that. The rest of the world can't come to a grinding halt (for lack of oil) while Israel resolves her differences with the Muslim world.

Russia will be the "odd man out" in that equation, 'cause she has enough oil to fend for herself for a while, if the going gets rough. But China doesn't, and India doesn't, and Pakistan doesn't, and most of the rest of the world doesn't either. (Venezuela does though, and that's an interesting tidbit to consider).

Nasrallah is really insignificant in this whole equation. However I don't doubt that Iran or Syria could get him something interesting if they really had a mind to. A bio-weapon of some sort, is most likely, would be my guess. Small, compact, and extremely effective.

Maybe we're about to find out where some of those Iraqi WMD's went.....

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah speaks for the fractured (Sunni Shiite) Muslim world? Wow.

If were going to start reading between the lines, maybe Sheiky really meant, "I hate Jews."

And 'maybe' you mean 'I hate Arabs'?
