YEP! It's always Israel that is made to make the compromises. I NEVER see Hezbollah being made to abide by anything they are supposed to. NEVER!!

What a shame. Things will NEVER get better over there at this rate.

They need a cease fire just as badly as Hezbollah. They need time to come up with some good explanations, and if they are smart, they'll stop the airstrikes and send in special forces (which should have been done days ago.

I am sure this is just a precursor to their upping the Air Strikes, not lessening them.

Just as we would, they are softening up their "Targets" before the send in their Brave young men and women.

There is no such thing as "Balance" of Force during a War.

Not sure who came up with that, but it is just silly.

War IS all about "unbalanced" actions in order to defeat your enemy.

Israel already said that it would still fire back IF fired upon.

I would have bet a lot of money that Hezbollah would never have stopped firing on Israel.

One of the MSNBC reporters there in the area said there were no air strikes from Israel that he could hear during the night.

Trying to suggest the Hizbollah struck inside Israel first, taunting them into a reply through renewed air strikes? No. There is no suggestion that that happened at all.

Rather, this: "Despite Israel's announcement of a suspension of air strikes, its war planes have again been in action in southern Lebanon, supporting ground troops involved in heavy fighting with Hezbollah militants.

Israel says it reserves the right to take action against targets if it believes its troops or civilians are under threat."

And the entire thread is misleading. Israed did not announce a cease-fire, but merely a suspension of air strikes. "Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz has said that, despite a 48-hour halt to air strikes on south Lebanon, Israel cannot agree to an immediate ceasefire."

So there was never a ceasefire, they simply announced a suspension of air strikes, and then went ahead and struck southern Lebanon from the air anyway!

Israeli airstrikes hit new targets

The Israeli military expressed regret that one of the strikes hit a Lebanese military vehicle outside Tyre, Lebanon.
The Israel Defense Forces said it was unclear how many people were killed. Earlier, a senior Lebanese Interior Ministry official said the airstrike killed an aide to a Lebanese general and wounded three soldiers. The general survived the attack, the official said.
