I think I've given up on any good ever coming out of this conflict.
Everything that was done over the past ten years of diplomacy has been just tossed in the trash.
Israel continues to take part in actions that make people fear them and join with radicals. Radicals continue to not be happy until Israel ceases to exist.
I really want to know what these "opportunities" Bush is talking about are.
All I see is "opportunities" to try and preserve what little bit of hope there still is. But I doubt it really matters what we do at this point.
At this point we can assume the aggressions between Israel and its neighbors are escalated to the point they were at before any progress was made. We can assume more war will be fought and that civilians on both sides will continue to be a bulk of the casualties.

And so....the Lebanese military can't give Israel a heads up that they are going to be in the area? Kinda risky, I'd say. All it takes is a phone call. BTW, does the Lebanese military support Hezbolah? Would they be above helping them sneak away? Just wondering. I find that rather strange....that nobody could get the Lebanese military to go near their border and had pretty much turned it over to Hezbollah....and now they show up?????

If Hezbolla are freedom fighters, then why did they attack after Israel left Lebanon? Who's freedom are they fighting for anyways?

I think that we established a long time ago that the Lebanese army was in no position to "remove the Hezbollah". They have serious problem becasue they are a non Army of a non country at this time.
