Default Sadr Flees Iraq!!

Well, now----it seems the chicken has fled the coop!. ABC News is reporting tonight that coinciding with Bush's announcement of the troop surge 2 to 3 weeks ago, al Sadr has fled Iraq and gone to Tehran, Iran.

So much for his saying all they had to do was keep attacking Americans and we'd leave was just backwards!!

Default ????

Where did all the Dems go????

Divine justice!!! While the Dems are standing on the floor of the House making total fools of themselves----selling out their own country and military, chalk a Big One up for President Bush!!! His "surge" has scared Sadr so much----he fled to Tehran.

Oh God----this just doesn't get any better.

Sadr joins 2 million other Iraqis who have fled the bloodshed. Unlike them, unfortunately, Sadr is more likely to return.

Default All giddy about nothing.

JP5 is all giddy about nothing. When we came rushing into Baghdad with the big shock and awe surge were people just standing around in droves willing to fight the most powerful army in the world? No they were not. In fact they waited until the fall of Saddam's statue, for the looting to start. then started fighting while the American military was overwhelmed by sectarian violence.
During that time certain Militia's and others, under the eyes of the American Military were allowed to do such things as loot tons (semi truck loads) of high explosives from munitions bunkers around Baghdad. Explosives that were and still are killing American soldiers in Iraq. Sadar leaving is not surprising. They are going to wait for Bush's surge to become further embroiled in sectarian violence and become victims of a failing Iraq Government.
Then they will come to fight.

Default ^true^

I dont think this is the end of Sadr...

between the Mahdi Army, and the x-saddam cabinet members...I just dont think Democracy is possible there...I really really dont.

We cant make the jews play nice either, there still effectively blocking off palestine from the rest of palestine with there wall, which was ruled illegal by the World Court...

I'm not saying I side with the Muslims over the Jews, Im just saying THERE BOTH CRAZY!!!

It's been in the news for weeks how the Shiite militias are going to sit out the surge and let the Sunnis take the brunt of it. And that basically has been their policy since the invasion. They have stayed out of it and let the Sunnis do all the fighting. Except when we specifically went after Sadr.

As for calling it fleeing, I'd call it strategic redeployment. Think of it as R&R, and just checking in with his handlers while his followers go to ground.

Any way you cut it---he didn't want to tangle with the U.S. military and the new surge.

Oh, I see----he's a Democrat: redeployment.
