I believe all this that Iran is doing is very much just like what Iraqi Information Minister said. all of it
was propaganda from a mad man just look at all his quotes.

First, I tend to agree with you.....but I offer another point of view:
These A-rabs are a proud people. For thousands of years they have 'developed' their own political grandstanding that in our more refined eyes may look like threats. Having the great unwashed camel-plooking masses follow them means power - just like here.
These quotes COULD be seen as an attempt to rally their own people and they may not even think of the implications these words have passed their borders. I don't think these simple folk are playing a multi-level 3-D game like the rest of the world community. Condescending? Yup. Truth? Maybe.

The psychic`s who can tell military service (presumably from typing skills) are cute, though.

Back to the servicemen in Iran - this might help

....the catalyst for the soldiers` capture was the botched US raid in Arbil back in January.

We all remember the five relatively junior officials from the Iranian liason office who were seized by the US and haven`t been seen since. According to the Chief of Staff for Massoud Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government the real, but missed, target was two high ranking Iranian security officers who - get this- were on an official visit.

I think it`s fair to treat anything coming from Iraqi officials with skepticism and they seem a mite pissed off about not being told about the raid so maybe they`re just stirring trouble but if there is any truth in this story then the culpability for the UK servicemen`s subsequent detention becomes more muddied.

Its ironic because your signature says Clinton shot somebody (wtf is that about?). Without indisputable proof, by your standards, you are just as anti American as the people you attack for criticizing Bush or Blair.

not much new news.... any bets as to what actually happens?

I can't imagine anything bad would happen to the sailors at this point since it would just be a political disaster for Iran. But I don't think we can reasonably expect Iran to just give them back, and hopefully Britain won't start giving Iran candy for this kind of action...
