It gets posted often enough that it's close to one.

Although besides the issues with that map that have been covered in those other threads, it's awfully selective with time.

Rewind the start date and that land belonged to...well, actually it belonged to a whole heck of a lot of nations from three different continents. It probably holds some records for how much it has changed hands.

But it has belonged entirely to the Jews of old from time to time. While the UN basically holds that ethnic cleansing prior to WWII is water under the bridge not to be considered, don't BS us all with stuff like that.

I don't think even most Palestinian supporters are going to be taken in by the idea that the Palestinians had simply been there all along, and then a bunch of Europeans come out of nowhere grabbing land.

It's just that to them Muslims conquering the area and cleansing/oppressing the Christians, Jews, and others is as natural and good as rain falling on a thirsty feild, whereas the Jews coming back from their various diasporas is a travesty against Allah.

The map is just meant to BS the unwitting. And I imagine it does work on some US high schoolers or something. But probably not anybody that would go into the middle east sub forum on this board.

Let's give the Mexicans back the land that WE took from them fair and square.

OUR TRADE DEFICIT LIVE - This year alone, over $400 BILLION DOLLARS has LEFT our economy in the middle of a recession. By the end of this day, over a BILLION DOLLARS will LEAVE our economy.

    2. Most of the green colored land on the left-most map did not belong to the Arabs. About 40% of the land belonged to the Arabs at the time and they got 45% of the land during the partition. The rest belonged to the government (non arab government). Case in point - the Negev desert, the entire southern part of the land which was virtually uninhibited and unsuitable for human life and agriculture at the time, yet somehow it's colored green. The desert made up more than half of the Israeli land during the partition

    3. The green-colored areas on the 3rd map (1949 - 1967) did not belong to the Palestinians, the land belonged to Egypt and Jordan during that period of time.

    4. The white-colored areas of the West Bank on the right-most map don't belong to Israel, the presense of Israeli troops there does not constitute Israeli ownership in any way, shape or form.

This land is legitimately palestinian. So is Gaza, the specific West Bank borders are to be decided by direct negotiations between Israel and Palestine in compliance with UN resolution 242. Unfortunately the Palestinian side has been refusing to sit down at the negotiating table for years.
