Default Iran calls new UN sanctions 'worthless'

Quote:
TEHRAN, Iran - Iran vowed to push ahead with uranium enrichment Tuesday, a day after the U.N. Security Council passed a third round of sanctions that Tehran called "worthless" and politically biased.

The council approved the measures in a 14-0 vote, but unity among the major powers faltered Tuesday when Russia and China blocked an attempt by Western nations to introduce a resolution on Iran's nuclear defiance at a meeting of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency.

I agree with Iran!

It is Worthless...

Destroy their means to enrich uranium before they get a nuclear weapon!

Default Let's let Russia handle this one...

Right now Russia will probably step in to "save the day" and tell Iran to knock it off. It's all lip service though.

Sooner or later the Iranians (who think of Russians as godless dogs) will target Russia with a little "fun" of their own inventing.

I say we target their uranium-enrichment facilities. Let's send 'em a copy of that resolution, taped to the tip of a cruise missile.

Default I agree with Iran

The sanctions are patently worthless. The UN just doesn't have nearly as much leverage here as it did with North Korea. Even that issue has yet to be resolved, and the UN basically had Kim Jong Il by the throat; how do we expect to win with the same strategy, only worse? While Iran definately needs supplies from Western nations, Ahmadinejad and his administration seem unwilling to admit the fact, and until the Iranian government finally realizes that it is slowly destroying its citizenry, I really don't think much can be done, short of decisive military action. But is now really the time for yet another firestorm?

Disagree.

Kim Jong Il isn't stupid. He does this every few years. Rattles a few sabers, pisses a few UN folks off, and in the end, he gets to cut a "deal" where he gets all kinds of goodies, in exchange for NOT attacking someone. So basically, he's just an attention whore, looking for a little pub, and maybe some goodies.

Billy Boy Clinton got suckered into this game, a few times.

it would be be a suicide if the us tried to attack Iran because the US already is suffering in Iraq without Shia involving and if the US attacked them Iran would provoke the Shia group and that will be the end

a war between US and Iran is very unlikely. Iran wants atomic energy, and IAEA clarified that iran doesn't have any programs of building nuclear weapons as well as CIA and MI6. this makes all the propaganda on a "dangerous iran" worthless.

I agree, except for the fact that in reality... Iran is dangerous.

The report that said Iran was not pursuing Nuclear weapons now but concluded that Iran had had a program, but deactivated it when the US began beating the war drums over Iraq. A 'Silver Lining' to Bush's policy in the Middle East......
