MOSCOW, June 28 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations' cargo plane has delivered humanitarian aid to Gaza, a spokesman for the ministry said on Saturday.

"The [Il-76] plane delivered a load of tents weighting in total 30 metric tons," the spokesman said adding that the assistance is rendered upon the request of the Palestinian government due to poor humanitarian situation in the region.

The plane landed at an airport in Jordan's capital of Amman, he said, from where the humanitarian cargo will be transported to Gaza by trucks.
This is the second Russian plane with humanitarian aid to Gaza this week as on June 24 Russia delivered to the region 30 metric tons of food and medicine.
This week Israel closed Gaza border crossings again after Palestinian militants launched mortars at the south of the Jewish state, violating the Egypt-sponsored truce deal reached last week.
As a result of the shelling, the Israeli military decided to cancel the scheduled opening of all but one of its Gaza border crossings due to security concerns, putting an end to supplies of food and other essential items.

American foreign Aid goes to its BIGGEST recipient - ISRAEL.

Israel is basically on life support from external donations and foreign aid from the USA.

Funny isnt it - because Israel's number one export is military hardware and security weapons etc.

What a lovely world we live in hey folks?

Its not hard at all. Israel is the #1 recipient of US funds, Egypt is #2. The US paid off Egypt to normalize relations with Israel and fall in line with Israeli and US policy regarding palestinians.

I know that America supports the Jewish state. I am not sure why though...
But my question was about Palestine and Gaza. Do Americans send ANY help to starving people? They don't.

American people are participating in the genocide of the Palestinians.

GAZA CITY (AFP) - Israel again sealed off the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Tuesday in retaliation for a rocket attack the previous day in breach of a truce in and around the impoverished Palestinian enclave.

Military authorities closed the three border crossing points that had been used mainly to deliver humanitarian supplies to Gaza since Israel imposed a blockade after the June 2007 bloody takeover by the Islamist Hamas movement.

It wasn't immediately clear when border crossings would reopen.

"We'll review the situation at the end of the day and then take a decision," said Israeli military spokesman Peter Lerner.

On Monday a rocket landed in an open field in southern Israel, causing no damage or casualties, according to Israeli police. No one claimed responsibility for the attack.

An Egyptian-mediated truce agreement between Israel and Hamas entails a gradual easing of the blockade, but the border crossings have been closed most days since June 19 in response to rocket attacks by Gaza militants.

"Nothing will stop our efforts to bring calm and ensure the security of the population in the south (of Israel) and to continue negotiations to achieve peace," Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in the southern town of Kyriat Gat.

MOSCOW, July 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's emergencies ministry has delivered to Jordan three batches of humanitarian assistance destined for the Palestinians territories, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

Israel once again closed Gaza border crossings earlier Tuesday in response to a Palestinian mortar attack on southern Israel late Monday. All but one of the Gaza border crossings are shut, halting supplies of food and other essential items to the Palestinian enclave.

"Three Russian emergencies ministry planes delivered on July 1 a large humanitarian cargo of food, medicine and tents to the Jordanian capital, Amman. The Russian assistance is designated for the population of Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, where the humanitarian situation remains difficult," the statement reads.

Two Russian planes delivered 30 metric tons of food and medicine each on June 24 and 28 at the request of the Palestinian government.
