Never did this intro stuff before so

here goes.

I was looking for a political discussion forum where people of different parties can discuss politics. I have found that democrats and conservatives actually have a lot of things in common once they get past the party thing. I have traditionally been republican but in the last eight years or so I am not sure what that is anymore. I am for sure not a communist but I dont really consider most democrats to fall into that realm either. I guess I would describe myself as independant with a strong stance on civil liberties and a severe dislike for crooked government. Republicans call me a liberal. Liberals call me a fascist. I tried going on a very popular Democrat forum to have some interesting discussion and was banned after only a few posts because I said I would be interested in knowing why the democrats need to hide information on fast and furious if there is nothing shady going on. I guess they thought I was some sort of threat.

Anyways, I am here now. Do I have to think the same way or am I free to think the way I want? I am interesting in discussing politics as I must have the need to be frustrated and show restraint.
