This honestly is a concoction of people who know nothing of the true nature of globalisation, which I think is inextricably linked to this topic.

During the Cold War, people who opposed the government did not rally for the other candidates, they just said 'screw the system' and went for the alternative, Socialism. Socialism is by all means completely anti-capitalist, it thinks that it will only lead to war, well this is when corrupted. Globalisation as I see it is the only path to world peace, the free movement of goods, people and capital without hinderence. People who oppose this idea, generally are isolationist who wants everyone to mind everyone elses business. This is impractical, we need to trade we each other, because alone we are not sustainable.

Anyone who thinks that capitalism is against world peace, then read Adam SMith's the 'Wealth of Nations' I dare you!!!!!!!!!!

Trade is one thing but disrupting the entire capitalistic concept to create maximum profits for only a handful is not what capitalism is about?

Take Thailand for example. There are 4 basic classes of people there. The needy who if someone does not take responsibility for die. The workers who make on average $6 a day, which is good because the average cost of a family of 5 to survive is about $5 a day. Workers who are skilled craftsmen that feel at home behind a sewing machine, a table saw, or a welder. They are multi-skilled because the jobs vary from day to day, but the pay, well it never changes. Bicycles are their mode of transportation.

Then there are the supervisors. These are the foreman of all operations they are the upper middle class and make anywhere from $12-15 a day. These are the most experienced workers who assure all tasks are completed, and all work orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. Their pay depends on it. Bicycles and scooters are their mode of transportation.

The royalty, or rich/elite. They are all well educated, eat the finest foods, live in luxury, are world travelers, and consume the profits the work of the other 90% create. They are socialist/dictators of the highest order and our involvement with Thailand is what keeps their form of government alive. We are promoting socialism and dictators every time we purchase a VCR, a pair of designer jeans, or a CD holder. We certainly are not promoting “world” capitalism, by taking advantage of slave labor provided by governments we do not agree with?!

As far as this world economy so many loosely throw around, do you not find it the least bit interesting that in the last century we participated in 2 World Wars to keep a handful of individuals from gaining complete financial control & government domination, but we are somehow supposed to succumb to the wishes of a handful of bankers and world elitists, to help them maximize profits with their vision of a "world economy"?
