Close to the heart for sure. They were created during President Woodrow Wilson's administration, in 1916. Wilson had previously been the President of Princeton for eight years before he became Governor of New Jersey, and then President. Brookings has a strong history of being influential with overall American policy ever since they were created. To specific interest of mine: they went along with Bush and the neoconservatives. They also contributed to the UN being created. So these men and women are part of the intellectual elite in their respected fields, their knowledge makes them rich and powerful.
