How about we all just don't listen to things we don't want to? Your suffering will not make mine more pallettable.
By the way, isn't the thread self-defeating. If you admit to liking a song you won't admit to doesn't that-

Default We're Anonymous

Well, we're anonymous here. I didn't want to make anyone "suffer". I thought that maybe I would like some of the Linkin Park songs etcetera and you might enjoy some of my songs.

Default Well ...

even back in the mid-1980s when I actually liked Wham!, I secretly entertained the thought that only a loser would like Wham! ... and so I didn't often tell anyone.

Default You Might Be Surprised

Seriously, you would be surprised if you listened to Stacie Orrico. If she worked with a great songwriter, the sky would be the limit. Her voice is powerful and emotional. The first time I heard "Stuck on You" (pardon my rambling, I tend to do this), I was amazed by the quality of her voice. If you listen to the first few seconds you don't expect much, but if you listen a little longer you can't help being in awe of her ability. The only problem with the song is the lyrics, but Stacie Orrico could make any lyrics sound good.
Hilary Duff's "Come Clean" is not typical for her. I have heard clips of her other solo works- and frankly I can't stand them. I don't know who wrote the song or came up with the video concept, but they are simply brilliant. In "Our Lips Are Sealed", it is Haylie Duff who gives the song some real force. I haven't listened to any solo works by Haylie Duff, but I soon will, since she is much superior as a singer and her presence seems to give energy to the song.
With "Love of a Lifetime", the song is infinitely better than the singer. If someone with great singing talent covered this one, it could be one of the best love songs ever. The same is true with Toto's "Africa". The lead singer actually sounds flat in certain parts of the song, but I overlook it because the song itself is so good.
As for Enya, either you like her or you don't. I find her music to be pretty good (especially "Sail Away"), but other people find it to be boring. In my opinion, it is unfair to tag her with the "New Age" label, since I've never liked any other artists who have been so labeled. Finally, if you haven't fallen asleep from reading this, is there a job that pays people for being boringly effusive?

"Lady Marmalade" Labelle
"Mr. Big Stuff" Jean Knight
"Kung Fu Fighting" Carl Douglas
"Word Up" Cameo
"Super Freak" Rick James

Don't ask me why, but I will always have a special place in my heart for 70s disco and funk, even though I was born in 1977.

I still think that I would have to pay the highest noise pollution fee to stekim, though. That said, stekim would have demanded at least a $200 noise pollution fee for some of the songs users on another site admitted to liking.

How could I forget Alanis Morissette? Only the angry stuff. And not really anymore. But when I was in high school... that's bad enough.

And I like those songs too. I even have dance remixes of several of them. And Korn did a cover of "Word Up" that's actually pretty good.

Others:

KC and the Sunshine Band "I'm Your Boogie Man"
Enrique Iglesias "Don't Turn Off The Lights"
Donna Sommer "I Feel Love" (dance megamix)
Madonna "Ray of Light" (dance remix)
Elvis "Fools Rush In"

I don't mind if someone sees the interesting pictures I have of an ex-girlfriend on my computer. But I'd be mortified if anyone knew I listened to Elvis, Madonna or Donna Sommer whan I'm feeling a little daffy. And one of these days, I'm going to leave the drapes open while I dumb dance to "I'm Your Boogie Man".

Hey Marge, looks like Mr. Hard Rocking Race Car Dude finally wigged the f' out! Look at him over there. He's havin' some kinda fit!

Default I'm a Hilary Duff Fan!

After listening to her more recent music, no caveat is necessary. I am an unashamed Hilary Duff fan! Listen to "Fly" and "Beat of My Heart". This isn't the same kind of music she sang for a teen TV show. "Fly" is deeply inspiring, while "Beat of My Heart" is energizing in a hypnotic sort of way.
