Default Signing Off to Study...

As I've mentioned before, today will be my last weekday on this site for about 2 to 3 months, the length of my semi-absence depending on my GED testing schedule. I'm going to start a regular studying schedule (at home) for the GED tomorrow. Although I'll stop by on at least most weekends, for obvious reasons I'll probably have less mental energy for the site. I appreciate all replies. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. You seem so learned that I always imagine you as having an Honors Degree from Oxford (do you?).

Dont be silly! I am an ignorant old sod who has just been lucky enough to have been around long enough to have 'accumulated' certain knowledge along the way. But your words I take to be a kindness, as you would flatter me....no need, but thanks all the same.

I'll mention again that you would be well served to take the test once before you start to study. Think about it, please.

Well, I would consider that if it weren't for the hassle involved. To take the tests themselves, I have to attend an orientation (orientations are held only on Mondays), then schedule the testing for each subject separately (testing is done only 4 days per month), ride a bus across the city I live in and take five tests, each of which is over an hour long. I will take each one on a different day, of course, because I would simply be too worn out to do any more, meaning that taking the tests more than once would further delay my progress. Frankly, the bureaucracy will be worse than the tests or the studying. I still have to figure out how to get a special $100 receipt for the orientation. I guess it would make too much sense if I just handed them the cash. The EU and the IRS have nothing on Oregon GED testers.

Well, of course I was unaware of the bureaucratic hassle involved. In general, it would be a good idea but maybe it is simply not feasible in this case. Anyway, all my best to you and hope to see you when you finish.

Thank you very much. I'll inform everyone when I've actually passed the test.
