Default Where does your posting time come from?

I thought I'd be posting less with the new job. And at first I was.
But we got a new scanning system and immediately overloaded it to catch up.
So it now takes from 2-15 minutes to get a document up on my screen... giving me lots of time to post. Hopefully one of these days we will get the queue down to a manageable level so you'll only really hear from me around lunchtime.

Well, my post rate is so high because I am in a sort of "transitional" phase. Mental illnesses set back my academic progress, and right now, though I'm 21, I'm just waiting to get the courage to take my GED. Other than helping my mother with housework, I really don't have any duties, and I have nothing recreational to do in the "real" world either. Since that unfortunate beggar passed away, I have no friends in the real world, and of course I've never had a girlfriend either. For me, then, a better question would be something along the lines of, "What else would I be doing?".

I work an odd schedule -- right now, two day shifts and three evening shifts.

I post a little from home, and try to check in on weekends just to keep up with new posts. But mostly I post from work.

My job involves a lot of short waits -- do something, wait a minute for the process to complete, do something else -- and I check the site during those downtimes that are useless for something else.

I also check the site as a creativity break, when I need to shift mental gears. I'm doing my job in the back of my mind while I read a few posts.

So I keep the site up in the background while I work.

Default as a retired person

I tend to steal the valuable time away from my family, my loved ones, and the vital voluntary work I do. I have also almost completely stopped reading the literature that I formerly loved, and dont take much air.

I still find time for this and daytime television (and I wank a lot).

I post almost exclusively from work. Since becoming a Mod I check in on the weekend just to monitor things, but I rarely post. When I get really busy at work (like over the last week or so) I don't have time to post. My work is deal oriented, so when the flow of deals is slow I have tons of time. Then there's now......

Maybe get a job and become a productive member of Society that isn't living off your Parents at your age?

Just a suggestion.

Default ,..

Most of my online time is at night when I'm home from work and on weekends. I check in during lunch and early mornings but I'm not near a computer 99% of the time at work and I work up 13 hours a day during the summer.

I am currently being provided for voluntarily and knowingly. On the other hand, presuming that you have a job yourself, you might be earning something for nothing from an unwitting employer.

Just a suggestion.

Force

I didn't say you weren't...

You ask what else would you be doing, and I just made a suggestion.

So when people are "willing", in your mind, people should take advantage of them?

As for my employment, I have not worked in 4 years, so I have taken advantage of no one.

I use my money to make more money, so no one else has to be responsible for my welfare.

But I have been considering going back to work, since 4 years of "retirement" have given me a bit of "Cabin Fever".

Regards,
Gaar

My ripostes were designed to make a point, Gaar. I was taking a guess about your life circumstances. It was incorrect, but you are also incorrect if you picture me as lazy or as taking advantage of my parents. I was illustrating the problem of trying to judge others' motives on an anonymous forum.
