Default What about computer viruses?

Ok so I'm still a little slow when it comes to computers, but something I have never understood: why do people make computer "viruses"? I mean, what is the point?

because they can. They see a secure network a new updated operating system as a challenge and want to be the first to crack it. Sometimes, younger kids will gain control of a website, change some stuff, take a screenshot, then leave.

Default Something I've never understood...

Why did god create viruses?

Yeah, I agree with exigent. Some asses just think it's cool to cause problems for everyone else. They are probably extremely fat or extremely skinny, live with mom and dad, have never been laid, and don't get out of the house much.

Default Hey!

Hey, I'm overweight (though only a little), live with my parents, am proudly a virgin and don't get out of the house much- but I do not spread computer viruses. That description of the stereotypical hacker did give me a badly needed laugh, though. I've been very depressed for the last few days. I just haven't started threads about it the way I formerly did.

Default off the subject, but hardly worth of its own thread...

Did anyone see the new South Park? The one about World of Warcraft? Funniest south park ever!

Force, I was thinking of you when I wrote that post. I'm glad you got a good laugh out of it. Don't worry. I don't think you're a hacker. You break the stereotype.

Thank you for the laugh. You know, sometimes you've cracked me up when I thought I was so depressed that nothing would make me laugh. Have you ever considered being a psychologist? You could call your technique "wise guy therapy".

Is that where they threaten to fit you with cement overshoes unless you cheer up?
