WHy do peole care about movie stars lives, why do we want to be all in their buissness. I Have found that i have enough s**t to deal with in my own life, that i have no need, or desire, to care about some rich, snoby, upper class, people, that waste their money, and live in constant drama.

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THIS CRAP?

Because they have become almost completely uninteresting themselves - allowing themselves to have been culturally neutered and socially lobotomised - that there is nothing left to feed their withering spirits but to gorge on the unwholesome and shrivelled carcass of celebrity.

Its for the want of a life....living vicariously, truly.

There is no logic other than human inclination toward icons and the fact that celebrities are visible people to use as symbols for the generalities of human life or just the opposite.
It's essentially pagan religion, but most people who take part in it would be offended if you told them that.

I think it's because of envy. They want to be those they read about. Plus, we live in a shallow culture where the important is ignored while the unimportant is analyzed to death. One cannot explain the supreme importance of who Brad Pitt is dating.

THis is strerio typical , but most of the people that are into this crap are females, and i have come up with a theory.

My theory is females love dramma , the seek it , create it, sometimes they do this subconsiously. i feel bad for the celebrities, they have no privacy, because teenage girls want to know everything about someone elses life, they want to pretend to be them.

I think you're on to something, locke. I don't think it is anything innate about women but more about the daytime TV crowd- ie, those with not much but routine in their lives. Drama helps keep the brain busy. It's the same reason such people would obsessively keep up with soap operas and slavishly read romance novels... as opposed to those who do such things merely for entertainment and don't get too bent out of shape with longing or for missing an episode.
I think it stems from having nothing else more personal or important to obsess with.

I don't know why people are so interested, but I do believe those in charge find it to be a useful distraction to issues that are truly important.

I never pay any attention to such things, although I must admit, I used to read those celeb mags at my doctors office during my on average 3 hour waits. Now I bring a book.

I think that these same people that want this dramma to keep their brains busy, end up being the same old people that complain about usless stufflike music being to loud or neigbors not mowing their yards exc...

These people have nothing better to do but care about what everyone else is doing, and ttheir goal is control over others lives.

FOr instance..

I don't regularly listne to rap but i was listen ing to it pretty loud the other day, and this old guy came up to me and Told me not asked me , but told me to turn my music down , because it hurts his ears, i said i know for a fact that it cant hurt your ears, then he cursed at me , and then i went off on him and called him every name in the book, and then continued to explain to him why i do not have to turn my music down and the only thing he could say afrter that was F-U.

Its people that are bored of their own lives, and feel the need to control others lives that are destroying our society.
