No, I just always figure you are going to return. This thread is about posters who have left for good.

No. God no.

That game is a huge grindfest and bored me to tears. I play EVE and City of Heroes.

BornToKill, so heres the plan... hunt down SS's WoW character and pvp assasinate'im.
Yeah, good luck doing that in the carebear infested universe of World of Warcraft. Not that you'd ever be able to find me anyway since there are about a million servers and everyone looks exactly like everyone else.

EVE is real PvP...no protection anywhere. Anyone can attack anyone at any time. Eve is about as hardcore as it gets for a video game.

It's all planned out.. Now I just have to give up my studies and my life for several months to level out S-S
Not on WoW you wont...it takes about 23 minutes to get to level 60 in that game. Thats why kids love it.

Quote:
But - of course - unfortunately I'm at European servers and S-S is predictably at the U.S.
Ironically, the exact opposite is true for EVE. It is based in Iceland, and was released to Europeans first.

Quote:
Besides maybe S-S is not worth of those zillion billion hours that that life-consuming abomination we call WOW demands of us poor victims..
No worries...you can always jst buy in-game money online like everyone else does. Sony Entertainment even made it legal to do so (no need to eBay anymore). That game is such crap its not even funny.
HaHa my favorite conservative plays the same games I do.

I started online gaming in 1989 on the MUD that spawned Everquest.
I switched to Duris an off shoot of Toril that was 100% pure PvP.
Played that for 8 years. Even while Everquest was up and popular.

I tried WoW quit at level 32. All of my old clan buddies and mudders run that game and are bigtime guild leaders.

I play City of Heros. Took a break, but am back now because of the PvP aspect.
Guardian server. Big shock my char is named Professor Rage.

HAHA

Ixtellor

P.S. Ixtellor is my super old MUD name from the early 90's. Yes My wife thinks I am some kind of super nerd.

I play on Champion and Infinity...30 characters total (full on both servers).

I liked Everquest, but it was still on the cartoony/fruity side for me. EQ2 was even worse.

One of the things I like about City of Heroes is that they have stayed true to the genre for the most part. A small but vocal minority of anime fans have been asking for cartoony costume options, and so far the DEVs have said no. They seem to be wantng to keep the feel of mainstream comics in the game, which is why I like it.

CoH is implementing a crafting system in the next update in a few months which should be really cool. The thing that makes it unique is that it comepletely removes the need to camp or farm any spawn. Something that plagues pretty much every other MMOG. The invention system will allow you to create custom enhancements which can be collected into sets, and will also allow you to contruct costume pieces not otherwise available.

I switch back and forth between CoH and EVE every few months. I like EVE because the backstory is detailed heavily political (Naturally I chose the Caldari...the neocon race), and because it is real PvP. I like CoH for the shoot-em-up factor and ability to customize.

And, also,......heck! I`m not ashamed to admit it. I miss Gaar too. The long winded semantics, the misplaced emphases, the fact he was never sure why YOU didn`t understand his point. He made me laugh. I liked him.
I hope he is not gone for good: I am missing Nawbut! I'Ve read some fighting words aimed against Europeans/Brits on some threads. None of you have been present to defend your honour leaving the task to little 'ole me - poorly equiped though I am.

I miss Molly Ivins. She is gone for good.

He posted in the "reincarnation" thread very recently, so he clearly isn't.

No. Nawbut is a bad habit that must be broken.

Oh sure, it looks like fun. Have a few friends over...read a few Nawbut posts and soon you`re all sitting around giggling and laughing. But that doesn`t pay the bills or get the chores done, does it? And therein lies the danger.

It`s all to easy to fall into a habit - Just one more thread. Before you know it you can`t even face the day without taking in a couple of `lines` of Nawbutian wit. Work and personal relationships suffer as the allure of escapism builds and more and more time is spent in an single-minded search for fresh, high quality Nawbut `hits`.

For the addict paranoid skepticism and a propensity to swear in polite company can mark the prelude to poverty, isolation and a seriously angry goose farmer.

Nawbut - Just say NOOOOOOooooo
