I was off by an average of 6.3 years, though a lot of that was guessing that an 18-year-old woman was 41 (I'm sure she would be flattered). My first ten guesses were as follows, with my guess preceding the person's actual age:

So I didn't figure out an average. I did notice that I tend to guess young. But when I guess old, I tend to guess much older!

A lot of them trick you by wearing sunglasses...cheaters. When they do that I always add 20 years as a penalty for deception.

I usually guess that people are older than they really are. I just guessed that a 15-year-old girl was 33. So far, I've been right on only about a fellow 21-year-old man.

I am reasonably ok with getting people's ages right when I see them in real life. But photos? I was off by 20 years for many people.

This was a real eye opener. I think the lighting, clothes, facial expressions, etc all matter.

A serious looking kid of 15, I thought was 40.

A 37 year old man with a goofy grin, I labelled 18.

I got all of them wrong. All the 20's I thought were teenagers and all the middle aged I guessed as 50's
