Default Theater Yakkers

When I go to the movies, I usually have to move at least once. I've been in movie theaters during a weekday afternoon, when there was only one other couple in the theater, and they were yakking. Then there's the parent with a baby who needs a gold invitation to take their baby who's been crying for five minutes out of the theater. A couple weeks ago, I was at a movie (Live Free or Die Hard) - the theater was packed, so I couldn't move. There was this fat black guy who laughed at every single incident in the movie.

This is more serious when I go to the performing arts, with its big ticket prices. I spent $110 each for front orchestra tickets for an orchestra performance I really wanted to see. Some people in a row back and about five seats down (I think they were students who got rush tickets) kept jabbering for five minutes. I couldn't take it any more so I turned around and yelled "Shut up!". I think a quarter of the orchestra section heard me, but they shut up.

If you're going to a rock concert - fine: talk, sing, smoke weed, (*)(*)(*)(*), murder, whatever, but everywhere else you shouldn't gab. I always wonder what these people think - do they think a concert is muzak to provide background while they catch up on yak with their friends?

Default They're self-absorbed...

They have no concept of what others are there for. Other people are just a backdrop to them. Scenery to ignore.

They're so caught up in themselves, that they fail to realize they're being an ass. When you point it out, you usually get the evil eye for doing so. It's as if YOU were the rude one for telling them to "shut the pie hole!"

Default I bet you've got two PHDs.

Yeah, I don't even go to movies anymore. Not only because of inconsiderate theatergoers who forget to turn off there phones even though they were reminded beforehand, but because the movies aren't worth the ever-increasing prices.

Besides the idiots and the prices, there are other things.

- Why do the previews have to be shown at a deafening volume??

- Some previews are so detailed, they make you feel like you've seen the whole movie, so why go to it?

- I'm tired of the computer special effects for the sake of special effects - a lot of it looks like it was aimed at 8 year olds.

Default EWWWW! My shoes are stuck to the floor!

I only go to movies that absolutely must be seen on the big screen. The last one was "Revenge of the Sith". Before that must have been "The Passion" - nobody yakked during that one.

Perhaps not, but if I had have been in the theatre that day you would have had to leave (after belting me first with your bag). I have never cried so much or so uncontrollably in any movie at all. I watched it at home with Mum, and she had to stop it three times to calm me down!

I detest people who are noisy during films. But rather than just put up with it and silently fume, I say something to them. Life is too short and movies are too expensive to put up with rude morons.

Default .

Movies in theatre are way too expensive today..its more of a hassle then its worth 9 out of 10 times....and worse of all apparently I am supposed to be deaf or they are trying to make me so.

these darned newfangled talking pictures ... they were so much better before with the written captions to read while the pump organ was playing
and milk duds, if you can find them are so old its as if they have been sitting there since the 50's
and when are they gonna bring back Tom & Jerry cartoons
and Tom Mix serials ... what a cowboy
they sure don't make things like they used to

Thank you! Nothing like a couple of big dog's butts to illustrate my nature

I originally took that pic to show the SO how much bigger Chester has got than Ruby. Only it turned out to be a cute shot!

How is your Scarlett going?
