I woke up at about 4:40 and the entire house was shaking. At first I thought someone was on the deck trying to break in so I grabbed my pistol and ran into the living room where my 15 year old was standing. I asked him what the hell is going on and said it must be hailing outside, I looked and it was completely calm so I took a walk out back [gun still in hand] expecting to see someone jumping off the deck.

It was then I started to realize what was going on.


I had never felt an earthquake before.

Yea, my house was rattling at about 5:40. I'd never realized we get earthquakes around here.

What type of house do you live in that when some one is on the deck the entire house shakes? The idea of that is absolutely hilarious!

Ps. I felt a little tiny shake up here in chicago! But my gun stayed in it's holster!

Amen, I'm in St. Louis and felt the earthquake also. I was doing laundry at the time and I thought it was the washer out of kilter. I turned on the news and they said it was an earthquake

I was just a little shakin.

The house I built for my family [way out in the country] has a deck that wraps around the entire back of the house. I have a French Door in the Master Bedroom leading out to the deck. I was sound asleep and heard what sounded to me like someone on the deck trying to open the door.

In the fog of instantly having been awakened, I grabbed my pistol.

Had it been an intruder, I would have gotten the drop on him. What' so funny about that?

I knew your momma was fat, but I didn't know she was *that* fat....
