Default NBA playoffs

I guess I am one of the only jocks here...

I predict Celtics come out of the East, they look SOO good.

I am loving the first round Spurs v Suns. I was very worried about this series, but the Spurs have the hearts of champions and it comes in handy.
And as long as the Suns refuse to play defense, they will never win a championship. Even if they make it past us, I think the Lakers and possible the Hornets will clean their clocks.

Game 1 Spurs v Suns was one of the best games of all time, if you missed it.

Watched 1 lakers game, they are beastly. Now that our "kobe stopper" is getting old, if we make it to the Lakers in the western conference finals, I think we will have a very hard time making it past them.

GO SPURS GO

Suns series was over in that first game, they blew it. Hard to come back from that. Last night they were outplayed and saw that coming. But that first game was great. Lakers look good, but I'm still skeptical. I think the Spurs can beat them. I think the Hornets could beat the Spurs, but would still pick SA. I think the Jazz will be a VERY tough out. They're my surprise pick for the finals. Not that any team from the west should be classified as a surprise pick.

Ug, after watching Lakers and Celtics games, those teams look freaking scary.

I think the Lakers Defense is not as solid, and someone from the West might be able to knock them out, but after seeing my first Celtics game, they are wicked sick. They are committed to TEAM defense, which is what it takes to win championships (see Spurs).

P.S. Not a lot of NBA fans in here I guess. When the "my favorite opera" threads get more hits...

Celtics do play great D, amazing what difference one player makes. Allen is not known for playing defense and last year they were horrendous on D. He alone catapulted them on D, which is why he got the award. He's a great student of the game and a teacher from what the players say. He deserves a ring and I'll pull for them on that basis. Lakers D is a bit shaky and I think a good defender could neutralize Pau. Which is why I think Spurs would beat LA.

Dont underestimate great 3 point shooting in the overall defence scheme. When you make a good percentage of your long distance shots that means the opposing team is out of position for a quick fast break. Plus the guards are in execellent position to fall back or trap.

Jocks play the game, not watch the game.

Since my free time has been severely limited by grad school and 2 toddlers, I prefer to head to the gym and get some games in rather than watch overpayed freaks of nature play. Okay, that's a lie, I like to watch too, I'm just jealous that I don't have the time right now. *sigh*

Update:

Lakers sweep - they look like the real deal.
Celtics - WTF, that series should be over.
The East in general looks chaotic
Spurs up 3-1, enough said. Should end tonight.
I am hoping Dallas makes a run, to at least drag that series out.
Utah or Rockets are going to get SLAUGHTERED in round 2.

Based on the games so far, I think the West is going to win it all as usual.
But I think the Celtics would have a great chance versus SA or the Hornets. A lot of match up problems there.

It will be Lakers or Spurs, but Jazz definitely won't get slaughtered. They're legitimately talented 1-5. A solid rebounding team at all positions as well.

I wager that lakers take it 4-1. Perhaps 4-2... does that qualify as slaughter?
I would be shocked if it went 7 games.
