How conservative? You're still pretty young to consider being conservative.

If you've been conservative through this slow down, you're doing good, as soon as it starts going up you should be ready to become more aggressive.

I've been playing investments that are pretty darn safe with the stock market being the way it's been for a while.

I'm not saving for retirement precisely at the moment. I'm going to be moving to what I plan to be a long term job and so I'll be putting my savings into a house in maybe a yearish when housing prices bottom out. (Right now they're still dropping rapidly in the area I'm moving to).

There is much debate with my wife between buying outright or at least paying down more and keeping more of the money liquid or invested.
