Default Retirement?

I'm wondering how you guys are doing with your retirements. The reason I ask is because a financial planner is becoming a more and more alluring career choice. I'm fairly good at it already, not perfect, but I can probably help those totally lost.

I retired on the 11th of june this year at 57yrs, I love it.

A lot of people said I was a workaholic and would not survive, and I sort of thought I was.

Its (*)(*)(*)(*)ing great!

I retire on the days my boss says I can retire. Other days she wants me to work because she can't cope without me.

Aha it takes more than a week for that to set in I'm sure, but don't let it - do stuff.

Seriously, if you start saving when you're in your twenties you're practically guaranteed to be a millionaire.

Im doing ok, I slug about 8% of each paycheck into my 401K. The company I work for matches 80 cents on the dollar up to 8% of your check, so I put in the max. Im only 26 though, so I have a while before I can even think about retirement.

Well it depends on your options. Different companies offer different choices. Given your age, you should go for the most aggressive mutual fund possible.

I have one of those 401k plans that projects a retirement year and grows conservative as you reach retirement.
Between that and the invested IRA, should be fine. My wife has them too.
