I want to say thank all of those of you who have expressed words of support and solidarity with me. i truly take of those words to my heart and they are somehow the strength that keep me going through every day here in Iraq.

This forum has become like self-therapy, a place I can express myself and let it all out. No matter what, I try to come here as much as I can during the day. The thing I like the most is that I have the opportunity to learn about other people's views, feelings and perceptions. And in doing that, I educate myself so I don't lack wisdom.

But now, I want to refer to some people in this chat that are questioning my integrity and attacking me for my views and opinions.
It's really disrespectful that some of you question me about my military status. What's the point of lying? I don't gain anything saying that I'm a soldier. I'm just a soldier and my remarks about it pretend to let everybody understand that my opinions are based on facts and first hand perceptions.
I can't do anything to change the mind of those who doesn't believe me, but I can ask you to be mature and serious about the American issues. It's really sad and painful what America is going through. It's not a joke.

I'm asking all of you for respect, maturity and the developing of a sense of wisdom.

Well, he could put all this to rest by providing some sort of proof.

And what proof would that be?

What would you need, name rank and serial number.

And after he does (provide proof), do you then supply the rest of us with your personal details?

I don't not think that anything that the Pres has said is all that radical or unreasonable in any case.

Is it really that threatening to you that a US soldier could express such sentiments?

It's real true that what I say might hurt some "patriotic" Americans. Those so called patriotic Americans don't get that agreeing with this war is actually an anti-american feeling. So, the fact that we have failed make some people feel uneasy.
I understand, do you think I'm glad of our failure? NO, I'm Not!

Sorry if I am being incredibly ignorant about the US forces and their policies for their workers but can you not say you want to go home? Are you being forced to stay?

Anyway, as I said in a previous post, it would be good for you to prove that you are out there, because having the opinions that you do (which are great BTW and I fully support you!!) and being in the poisiton that you say are in, it bears a lot more weight. It would actually be easy for someone to get on here with some opinions like yours and back them up more by lying about their current location and job. I am not saying that I think you are lying just that i think it would do you some good to prove yourself, as others have questioned you and there is a reason for lying, if that is what someone was doing.

Don't see what harm it would do you, to take a picture in Iraq of holding "hello political forum" and post it along with your information about where you are etc.


That would be good for you to prove yourself, because then people will really listen to your views, (even though most of us agree with you) but it would help convince others who don't.

My friend is a Captain (and I assume that means he gets some privledges) and it's VERY difficult for him to access the internet. Maybe once every two weeks. Where are you based and what branch are you in?

Maybe it's none of your fvckin' business.

These rednecks are very selective about who they decide to make demands on for proof.

And their attitude is what makes America such a soft target. While these wingnuts base their demands for proof purely on their personal prejudices, any ruthless jerk (like a terrorist) can get next to them, no questions asked, merely by spouting the mantra and looking the part.

But then, republicans never were known for great insight into character.

You gotta admit: there are a lot of hoaxes on the internet. And what better way to disparage this president than to "pretend" to be a soldier who questions his decisions? I've seen it done before. You should be able to understand why we question it.
