went to see GI Joe... bah, shoulda waited for the dvd release.
It wasn't horrible, the kids will like it. I would have prefered something more realistic and serious.

I was looking forward to the Harry Potter movie, but to be honest, it was a huge let down (the book rocked though). Angels and Demons was far better, hell, Transformers 2 was better.

Batman was a toy, and was able to pull off a very serious/realistic portrayal with The Dark Knight.

Hurt Locker

A film about an Army unit of demolition/explosive experts set in Iraq.

Not exactly a blockbuster, but a realistic portrayal of this conflict...

Saw the trailer... looks good.

I'd like to see that and District 9.

District 9 looks really good, at least from the trailer...
I agree, looking forward to seeing that one also.

I went and saw G.I. Joe on Saturday night. Don't waste your money, it was garbage.

No, Batman was a comic book character and had already had a tradition of dark, hard edged comics. The toy sprang from the comics.

Okay. Yet it was still a fantasy with little to no realistic implementation, but able to be portrayed in a very real way on the big screen.
