Good luck, hope the trip goes well. In London, theres a kinda one mile square with The Houses Of Parliament, Big Ben, several museums, the London eye and various other sites worth seeing. Lots of the museums are relatively close to each other too, so as long as you get off at the right tube stop, you'll be able to find everything pretty easy and all within walking distance of each other. You can buy a pocket map for about £4 in any newsagent in London, I recommend you do so, its easy to get lost in the center of London, but is also easy to find anything if you have a decent map.
Germany is a wonderful place, I spent several years in Osnabruck, near Munster, and can promise you'll get a warm response from the locals. ENJOY

Picadelli Circus and Soho are worth a visit and so is the Camden and Coventry Gardens.
You may invest in the couple of pounds and drive out to Windsor Castle. If you are interested in the theaters and arts there are great musicals and concerts playing every night. Madame Toussauds is also worth seeing (if you never saw it), as it is the best wax figurine museum in the world. The british naval museum, Cutty Sark in Greenwich are not out of distance either, at least for a day trip. Other than that, enjoy the bad british food lol. Fish and Chips are the best followed by Indian food. Stay away from the saussages and alike as they are made of sawdust (or maybe they just taste that way). Blood pudding, Haggas (or however you spell that), liver pie and other specialty items are to be avoided at any time (unless you are insane or suicidal). Berlin has a new Holocaust Memorial to visit, the Kurfuerstendamm is a big nice alley for shopping and seeing a bunch of stuff, the Brandenburger Tor is a must see. You may also want to go to the Bundestag (German Parliament) where you can walk up into the glass dome. Pretty cool stuff. If you are into sports, check out the "olympic stadium and the Funkturm (TV tower) offering a great arial view of Berlin. You can take the train out to Bellevue in Potsdam which is a great castle right outside Berlin. There are also numerous museums in Berlin you may want to check out. Stay away from Bahnhof Zoo and sourroundings at night though as it is not the safest area (littered with junkies and hookers) after dark. Heidelberg, well have a blast, it is a student town, there is plenty to do. You may want to take a trip to the castle, spend a day cruising up and down the Neckar (river flowing through Heidelberg) to see the pitoresque valley and castles lining the valley. BASF world headquarters is in Ludwigshafen (about a 20 minute train ride from Heidelberg) and may be giving you a tour. Mannheim (about 15 mins by train) has also a nice castle wich houses the local university. You can walk through the square city and simply enjoy it. I could continue but am not really sure as to what you are expecting or is along the lines of what you want.... |

Bring plenty of soap, toothpaste and deodorant, because these are all banned substances in Euro.

any one of the castles such as Windsor or Hampton Court, although I recommend the latter because the hedge maze is cool. St Paul's Cathedral is also awesome, the whispering walls are cool. The walls are circular and you can have one person stand on one side and the other person on the other side about 50 yards away. You can whisper and hear each other, it's pretty neat.

I avoid places where soap, deodorant and tooth paste are banned substances. And women with hairy legs and underarms don't do much for me, either.
