but the Red Sox are getting spanked right now. It's hard to imagine that the White Sox haven't even one a SERIES, much less a world series, since 1917. Maybe they'll do it this time, though I won't count them out until the White Sox win three. But on paper the White Sox look better. Although, as usual, a Yanks/Red Sox series would be more fun.

They slumped a little at the end but still have the best record in the American League and still won their last 5 in a row I think. I think y'all will be surprised what a great team they are. As of today, they are 2 up. I think they'll take it in 4, Saturday at Fenway. For the WS, I think it will be White Sox/Cards. Go SOX!

I see Derek Jeter is sad. If only I cared...
How wonderful to see both New York and Atlanta go out in the first round of the playoffs. I think I have to root for Chicago now...division loyalty or some such crap. And Houston - Andy Pettitte loyalty (wow, that boy is yummy

I sort of wish the Yanks had won because the White Sox would have clocked them. The Angels match up much better, so I think it will be a really good series. Go Sox!
P.S. Did anyone see the Sox/Sox game on Friday night? What a great game! That sixth was amazing. Probably the best three innings of pitching I've seen. Still thought the Red Sox would have won at least one at home, but the White Sox are just so on top of their game right now. |

You're the second person to comment to me on how great the pitching in that game was but I was too busy getting lost on Cleveland's Eastside....
I didn't have time to watch the entire 18-inning debacle Sunday - good thing too. Would have given me several heart attacks...

That runner interference call (Cano) was one of the worst calls I have ever seen in a baseball game. It will be interesting to see what Steinbrenner does in the offseason. I have a feeling we will see a lot of new faces. I can only hope that someone teaches Giambi to hit to the opposite field.

I only saw that call in replays and it did look bad but it made up for the run that scored at home Sunday night (number three) when one of the Yankees (I forget which now) was clearly out. Who's payroll was *that* umpire on??

He looked out to me and the person I was watching it with.
Still, the Yankees repeatedly let scoring opportunities get away from them just as they had done all season and throughout the ALDS. Or would you like to blame that little collision in the outfield, which should have been a routine play, on the umpires as well?
