I agree with both of you. It is basically a stance of current sentiment versus the preservation of the US Constitution. Obviously our first admendment is the cornerstone for the US and it angers me that the vote came close to passage. That one time liberals such as Hilary Clinton have migrated to the right on issues such as this for the sake of their political careers is disgraceful. Republican or Democrat pandering to the extreme right inthe name of electorial success is a sad fact. I cannot believe that the GOP is desperate enough to propose this irrational, dangerous issue just to reconnect with their base. Why doesnt Congress do actual work other that debating flag burning or a gay marriage ban which would hurt democracy for all.

We should make it compulsory to burn the flag, everybody's flags. And it should be taught in school....
