Should reforms of the UN include that the number of permanent members of the Security Counsel are enlarged and include two more members of the Developing world, who will have all the rights and powers (veto etc.) of the other permanent members?

Too many countries have veto power already. It's why it's so hard for the Security Council to get anything done.

If Russia hadn't been stupid, the UN would never have authorized the intervention that led to the Korean War -- arguably the UN's finest hour.

More representation? Fine. More veto powers? No. Consider stripping veto power for current holders? Yes -- although, given that they have veto power, it'll never happen.

The UN should reform itself by dismantling. More importantly, the United States should get out of it and stop funding it. It is a waste of American dollars and being in the UN puts us in the middle of international conflicts that are none of our business. Moreover, I think that it is absurd that the United States seeks UN approval for anything. Other than our own ambassador, American voters don't have even an indirect say over who runs the UN. This is one of the few times I'll agree with S-S. Mandates without representation are tyranny. Don't get me wrong. I'm 100% against the war in Iraq (France was right, we were wrong)- I support an immediate withdrawal, in fact, but I am equally opposed to U.S. involvement in the UN.

I do agree that the veto should be thrown out of the window, but since this will NEVER happen, I was sort a thinking, ok, we need more permanent members that represents more of the world, and this will only be fair, if they get all the rights of the other permanent members, including the veto.

So, yeah, I am totally anti-veto, but this is a second best case scenario
