When I lived in the middle east, I didn't see alot of killing in the name of Islam. I think that's overblown in the US. It's like anytime a Muslim kills anyone it's because Islam is evil all of the sudden.

The best and worst thing that ever happened to the middle east, IMO, was oil, and the international attention it brought to the region. It brings the worst out in everybody, and the people who were disgrundled traditional backwards fundamentalists, all of the sudden had enough money to get really stupid. The Israeli Palenstinian conflict aside...oil gave a lot of stupid people a lot of money. Kind of like what happened in Texas between 1910-1950.

The second worst thing that happened to the middle east was our invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. That gave evey stupid machismo dumb arse in the region a reason to take up arms. However well intended our actions, and however well behaved and professional our troopers are

There are Americans all over Saudi Arabia.. Halliburton, Schlumberge, Saudi Aramco, Fhuad Company, GE, Alcoa... the list goes on and on.

They tend to just have a Catholic Service, non denominational Protestant congregation and an Episcopalian congregation....

Does their text call for what I said in the post and do some follow that yes or no and the rest as well yes or no? Is there an element of Islam that is a real danger yes or no.

Never a danger to me or any of my friends, family or classmates.. I always went everywhere quite freely.. and was never treated rudely... nor was I ever afraid.

But that's probably because Americans in the ME treat them with respect and don't make up lies about them...

You pretty much get what you give .. Ignorance always contributes to problems.

No.. and you don't understand context... Most Muslims have difficulty with out scripture.. taking the literally instead of as parable.. but those whoar educated get basic concepts concerning our differences.
