Which country has the strongest military?

For me it was a close call between Russia and U.S.A

Technologically the Americans, hands down are the most superior, but when it comes to honour my vote goes for the Japanese, Chinese or Russians.

I'm not sure about in honor. In manning, China has us beat. In overall training, the US seems to be in the lead. In experience, the US has a pretty clear lead.

Russia. They have more nukes.

doesn't the US have a bigger military budget bigger then all other nation's combined? I think they win, by far. Russia's military is old anyways.

I think you really need to be more specific in your question. In most general terms, the US military is tops, but there are specific areas in which other national military organizations excel. The British probably have the best trained, at least for their elite forces. China has the largest force.

As far as honor goes, it's hard to rate the Japanese since the current post Occupation Army has never been in armed conflict so they don't really have much in the way of real world experience. I sure wouldn't give that sort of credit to the Russians though.

I selected other because the poll used two different qualifiers "best" & "strongest".

The "best" military in the world IMO is America.

The "strongest" military IMO would be China.

In a war between the U.S. and China I think that the U.S. would be sorely tested. The U.S. would have the edge in military tech, but China would have the edge in man power. Military technology is great but remember Vietnam? A ragtag Army (NVA) and gorilla force (Viet Cong) bested the U.S. Also anyone remember their history lessons on the Korean War? Where 200k PLA troops poured across the Yalu River (the border between China and North Korea) and commenced to tear apart Allied lines with the sheer number of PLA troops?

Military technology is awesome, but so is having nearly 5 million troops to send into a battle if needed.
