You can admit you were wrong. It's OK, we won't tease you. There's probably a self-help group for you and others. I know it must be hard but we will help you get through this. Now take the first step and admit you were wrong. We're pulling for you.
I didn't start an argument with you. My original post was to Savetheworld. You countered my post with your opinion and some opinion polls of Iraqis. Fine, I don't disagree with Iraqis. I would love to get out of Iraq. But as you said in your original post, "I think if the US decides to leave any US friendly government will be killed off and it will either spark off a huge civil war with other countries involved or another Saddam like dictator taking over." I agree with your statement. Which is a good example why your argumentum ad populum is a falacious argument. Just because a majority of Iraqis would like us out, does not mean that is the right thing to do.

Now, what was I supposed to be wrong about?

Wrong about whether the war in Iraq was worth it. The US troops can't stay indefinitely and whether they continue to stay or leave, the war in Iraq wasn't worth it.

OK I see, I didn't realize you were saying you were against the war altogether in which case, I'll have to refer you back to my original post of the old Iraqi voter lady who told you where to go.

Default Unbelieveable

I think it is quite a shame that people here in the U.S. make judgments and decisions based on MOSTLY half truths that they receive from the media. The real truth is.....most people know very little about what is going on in the middle east. Their overall views are, "Obscured" by their general political views to at least some degree in most cases. The REAL truth is.......and IF you were honest, you would say......"I have no real idea if there has been any true improvements in Iraq or in the Middle East Campaign because I haven't been there!!!!" If you have spent any time over there, you would see that there have been some improvements made in MANY areas. Yes, there has been some bad stuff happen too......but too many people simply focus on the bad and ignore the good to at least some extent. You DO NOT make headway in a campaign such as this without cost! So give me a break already.....Stop proliferating half truths and THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We must all ask ourselves this to answer this question....

Are Europeans the only people we are responsible to provide liberty to? We lost many more thousands of troops saving France and Britain! Restored Democracy to Europe for all of Europe

We kicked out dictators, beat massive and evil armies and destroyed stopped the genocide of the Jews

We lost so many men saving so many more! Because it was our responsibility to defeat the Germans and save our allies to preserve their liberty. The losses of this war are so small in comparison of World War 1 and 2, we are giving the same thing we gave the Europeans... liberty...

Just because they're not white Europeans doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility to save them from terror

So I say God Bless America for saving the poor Iraqis and Kurds from their Evil Dictator

Too bad we did it too late and couldn't save more Kurds and Iraqis from Saddam

As the greatest country of earth, it is our responsibility to make sure other people enjoy the same liberty we do!

Well said.

I think that you cannot judge Iraq until the war has ended. When we succeed, we will have a powerful ally in the region and show to the people of theMiddle East that a democracy where people have freedoms is a great thing.
