As far as if Iran attacked Israel, should we attack Iran? Hell no. Israel can handle the situation easily by themselves.

But I'm sure we'll be at war with them in the next decade one way or another. We love war too much.

i voted in favor of it and soon but only if provoked. i wouldnt want to see it happen though. i dont think iranians would want to fight a war evein if it gets started by the current regime.

We are ALREADY at war with iran. They are fighting our troops in Iraq and they have been committing illegal acts of war (terrorism) against us for decades.

The end of the iranian regime is very near.

It's in US "short-term" interests to keep a balance of power in the region--mainly between Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. If any party or country accumulates a significant amount of power over the others, it is in US interests to "rebalance" the region. A balance of power ensures relative stability and a safe, secure, steady supply of oil for all of us. The reason we overthrew Saddam was because he upset the balance of power by: 1. invading Iran in the 70's and 80's; and 2. invading Kuwait in 1990. Saddam had become over-ambitious and threatened to de-stabilize the region.

Of course this whole US policy is very short-sighted. The US playing the role of Leviathan can only take us so far and fails to address the actual issues that divide people. We need to start addressing these issues if we hope for any long-term stability and peace.

Why do I feel this way?

1.Iran is developing Nuclear weapons.
2.Iran has the ability to strike Israel or Europe with those weapons.
3.Iran has acted aggresively towards ships in Nuetral waters.
4.Iran has openly called for destruction of Israel.
5.Iran is openly supporting terror groups like Hezbollah]
6.Iran is supplying Americas enemies in Afghanistan and Iraq

Even if and when the oil is flowing at 100% capacity in Iraq, war in Iran would disrupt the flow. AND when there is also an uprising in Africa, combined with a storm in the Gulf of Mexico, the price of oil will go to $5 or $6 a gallon and the NA economy will crumble.

All world economies will hurt for years - alternative fuels will gradually become economically feasible and the world may get greener, but a neo class structure will manifest itself on the continent with the rise of gated communities and harsh social justice and radicalism
