If they have violated state laws, then the state should have the right to decide if they should vote in state and local elections. Only those who have violated federal laws should be excluded from voting in federal elections.

No, because Obama would definately get a increase in the prison vote since the majority of them are negro's incarcerated in them. They could be the factor that makes him President.

Important to who? they have committed a crime against society, why should society trust their vote in the laws?

this should only count for certain types of crimes of course... It needs to be firmly established that whatever crime they committed clearly constitutes a mind that clearly has ill intent against society in mind.
