I really don't see what this has to do with communism. But if you mean, left-wing I will agree with you! Being pretty liberal myself, it is stuff like this which makes me not identify myself with the democratic party! This is why kids grow up and shoot up their school, or kidnap a girl and beat her for bashing you on myspace. It is because they have never known any consequences for their actions as children!!!!!!!!! When the worst a parent can do is put a kid on timeout without fear of repercussion, it puts people into untenable situations! There are situations when a kid needs to be beaten!! As I said, when a kid has never faced serious repercussions for their actions, they will think they can do whatever they want!

This is a epidemic of sorts! We have become a nation dominated by children! We show things on delay, "so we don't offend the children" ignoring freedom of speech, and the fact that an hour later they will be on the internet being exposed to 100 times worse! My nephew who is 10 years old, told me that in gym class they jump rope with no rope! So they just jump up and down, moving their arms. Now this to me is a perfect summarization of all that is wrong with the american left! They do this so none of the kids will feel inferior to others, failing to realize that messing up is part of life. Some people are better at some things than others, and it is nothing to be ashamed of. Where as jumping rope with no rope is something to be very ashamed of!

Strangers? Hell no!
A stranger should not get to decide the manner in which to punish a person's kids nor what is deserving of punishment.
Only people designated by the parent to have that authority should use it.

Thankfully most people don't leave their kids with strangers... and most strangers know better than to take someone else's kids discipline into their own hands.

I remember getting a few 'swats' when I was an unruly disruptive smartass at school and I wasn't the only one. It shut me [and others] up and maintained a calm decorum in the classroom.

But that's different from the OP. By enrolling you in that school yer parents gave permission to the school administrators/teachers to swat you. We still do it in about half of NC's counties.

I agree that a good spanking now and then (or as often as needed) is good for the kids. But it should only be done with the permission of the parents.
