Default Woman falsely cries rape, gets charged with her husband's murder

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...indicted_N.htm

Quote:
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Darrell Roberson came home from a card game late one night to find his wife rolling around with another man in a pickup in the driveway.

Caught in the act with her lover, Tracy Denise Roberson — thinking quickly, if not clearly — cried rape, authorities say. Her husband pulled a gun and killed the other man with a shot to the head.

On Thursday, a grand jury handed up a manslaughter indictment — against the wife, not the husband.

You are incorrect, per google the phrase mostly unique comes up with over 3 million hits making the use of the phrase not so unique. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

Pretty weird situation. I initially picked both, but now I'm not sure.

Ok, I think I might go back on my answer and pick the wife only.

this is a tough one. i can relate to the guy, emotionally, but my detached self tells me he should be the only guilty person. ignoring whatever laws theyre going by in texas, i dont think its appropriate to kill someone for this -- of course, id probably disagree with myself were i in his shoes, but i dont think that justifies this.

yes, the woman was cheating on her husband, and it was pretty selfish of her to cry rape, but maybe she had reason to fear her husbands reaction toward her. anyway, its not like she explicitly told her husband to kill the guy. i know ill likely be in the minority, but im gonna have to say he should be punished. i dont think shes guilty of anything more than infidelity.

But it can be seen as a case of self defense. He thought his wife was in danger and did not know if it was a armed rape.

still, the wife should still be charged for creating the initial "threat".

Hypothetically, what if she was actually raped. Should he be charged with manslaughter?

after the fact its no longer in self defense, its vigilantism. im not saying i wouldnt do the same thing if i were in the exact same situation, but... i know i wouldnt be at my best under those circumstances. not what i would consider my best, anyway.

She got what she deserved. I'd bet the husaband is having a hard time living with the fact that he's taken an innocent mans life. That's a pretty tough punishment for anyone with a concious.
