I think it'll actually depend how the polls look as to what Israel will do. Usually we have a pretty good idea how an election will go ahead of time.

I voted "before" guessing that Obama will look to be a powerhouse going in. If that isn't the case I don't know.

But I don't think Israel will go all in. There might be only one wave of missiles/strike fighters to take out the centerfuges and nuke plant.

After that I think they'd go on the defensive and hope the distance proves more than Iran can deal with effectively.

And they will move without US approval. I'm guessing the US would rather wait until we're more energy independent before hitting Iran. Or at least until it's obvious they're going for nukes when they kick out some inspectors or something.

If Iran attacks Israel we would defend them.

But rememeber.

If Israel attacks Iran the rest of the middle east will defend Iran.

Don't think of it as staying Israel vs. Iran with the defense of the west if Israel decides to attack it. Al Qaeda, Hezbolla, Hamas, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon would offer military support to Iran and it wouldn't be just against Israel. Terrorism would have a great rise all around the world, and financial/trade war would also be waged by Egypt, Saudi Arabia such as sealing off use of their waters for shipping. And who knows what would go on in Iraq but it would not be good.

If Israel bombed Iran it would ruin the lives of many around the entire world.

actually that's quite true. a pre-emptive attack by israel is far more supported than by iran. iran is the evil one you know.

If they are really going to attack. i would think it would be before Bush is out of office. Then they would figure the US would respond. If they wait and Obama gets elected they wouldn't be sure what we would do. If McCain gets elected we would stay in Iran 100 years as well. I guess.

My guess is that Bush will give the green light for Israel to attack Iran in November prior to the US elections in an attempt to bolster the fortunes of McCain and an ailing Republican party.

Every Nation has a right to self defence although some are better at it then others. If Iran knows whats good for it then the best self defence is to stop the Nuclear weapons program and start dialouge.
