Depends on what your idea of "nutty" is. If religion enhances your life, that's great. If it makes you miserable, maybe it's not so great.

There was a rather nice looking crop circle in the paper the other day...I can't remember the country it was made in, though.

I make crop circles with my wife, they are the result of our passion for outdoor shagging

Nope, nothing like that. This one was a very recent one, it was like a circle, with a lot of intricate detail.

We can't even get this right?

In one account, when Ham saw his father naked, Noah put a curse on Canaan, the youngest son of Ham .... called the curse of Ham (though some refer to it as the curse of Canaan).

However, biblical scholars basically agree that Noah's Curse of Canaan is more likely attributed to his refusal to join Ham on the family property (think of it as staying on the farm and working for the Old Man). Subsequently, Canaan settled on the other side of the Nile, and the land of Canaan was seized by the Israelites.

The Curse of Canaan was used by some to justify racism and oppression of blacks because Canaan married a black woman. This definition was discredited in the mid-20th century.

Yeah Ham was the one who saw his father naked. Hadn't looked at the story in a while. Here it is from Genesis 9:

Quote:
20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.
21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.
22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and told his two brothers outside.
23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father's nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father's nakedness.

24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,
25 he said,
"Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers."
Now some scholars believe that "saw" means that he sodomized Noah but that is just ridiculous because the word saw is used countless times in the bible to mean seeing something.
For instance:
Genesis 18:2 - "Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby." Doesn't mean he sodomized three men
Genesis 12:15 - "And when Pharaoh's officials saw her" Doesn't mean the Pharaoh's officials sodomized her

Me too. My ability to question is the reason why I don't believe in God right now. Christianity just didn't make sense to me.
