It would really be stupid not to.

"Yes" and "I'm going to direct attention to Sen. Obama"
McCain is woefully ignorant on the economy, and yet his economic policies are a lot sounder than the ones proposed by Obama. I don't really care about who a politician is if I can't support their policies, and if I support a candidate's policies, then I don't care who that politician is.

No. Regardless of the issue. While I disagree 'the economy' is the biggest issue, I agree that any president who's uneducated in whatever particular field is the most to you, in your opinion 'shouldn't be running'.
I disagree that the economy is a major issue for POTUS because in actuality the direct effect a president can have on the economy is minimal. I can say this mostly because you've broaden the spectrum so far that I could say just about anything. 'The economy' could mean any of a variety of things, so maybe if you got a bit more specific it could be more easily addressed. Rinse and repeat.

I suppose it's better for someone to admit that they need more education in a certain issue than to think they know all about it when they don't. At least this way he will be more likely to listen more to his advisers, who are truly educated (rather than just informed) on the issue.

I think McCain should be knowledgeable on all aspects of the issues.
However, it doesn't make a difference if he is or isn't on the economy because the President nor the government should have a hand in the economy anyways. Besides, they have intellectuals to do it for 'em anyways. |

Come up with a poll that actually addresses the issues in full and I will vote on it.

Again I like the fact the man will admit that he's not an expert when he isn't, instead of pretending like most politicians would.
It isn't like Obama majored in economics. And his exposure to running a business sort of thing was a church foundation where people freely gave him money for him to help the poor with. Now that's a good thing. Though I think it's going to translate to him trying to do with same thing except replace "freely gave" with "forced to give". It's also quite possible he'd pick a VP that's strong on economics. |
