Default Drug Dealers: Your thoughts on illegal drug trade...

What's your opinion on drug dealers? Illegal drug trade has been an issue for decades in America, yet the war on drugs has seen little improvement in areas where illegal substances are easy to find... namely inner city regions where drug deaths are numerous. So what are your thoughts on those who supply?

Honestly, if you look at drug dealers they are just another example of capitalism and the need to fulfill demand with supply.

If their professions weren't illegal, they simply would be replaced by high-end executives such as those at the Tobacco companies.

However since they do practice an illegal trade, their actions are incredibly violent and they contribute towards increasing drug addiction throughout the world. Those things they can't be excused for.

There wouldn't be a war on drugs, if we were able to shoot on sight.

Sure it can, people choose to do drugs, therefore they choose to get addicted..

I believe drug dealers are just providing a service, but I don't think there's any horrible about it being primarily a black market either. Out of principle drugs should be legal, but eh, out of principle alot of things should be different..

There wouldn't be a reason for drug dealers to exist if we didn't have drug addicts buying the drugs in the first place.

I blame the users themselves. They are the ones keeping the dealers on the street, after all.

I agree that drugs should be legal, my problem is that since it isn't legal, drug dealers tend to do other things that are illegal as well. Mexico provides the perfect exaple of what I mean.

Which drug dealers are you talking about? The inner city small time dealer, his supplier, the smuggler, the big time armed cartel leader or the CIA?

I personally think ALL drugs should be legalized.

And which drug(s) are you talking about? Marijuana? Ecstasy? Crack cocaine? Crystal meth? LSD? Heroin?

It comes down to this for me, 50 years of fighting drugs and the USA has the highest drug use per capita.

If you are an adult and want or need to be high, so be it. If it was treated as a medical problem instead of a criminal problem we could do much more with the people who have problems. I know some people that just like being high.

If you sell or give drugs to kids I have a very special place for you to go. Then AMericans can go to the store and buy a truckload of booze and drink it all if they want, killing them self just the same.
