I am generally against income tax, it's implementation is far too complicated, and federal income tax is particularly bad IMHO. If anything a very minimal federal sales tax should be enough.

Why does the federal government need to tax citizenry anyway?

Because the preamble states that the government will provide for the security and general welfare of this nation. Because this nation deserves the best. But the best costs a little something.

But generally the states should have no issue providing this themselves. I never said I am against a moderate state tax.

Well i guess it would depend on wther you want this nation to be a strong prosperous nation or wether youd prefer it to be an allegiance of states varying in power.

Well I'm sure all of the libertarians on this board would stone me for saying this. But in many ways i feel that the local government on issues that are possible on a national scale they should more be simply localised administrations of the federal government though of course not all the time. Obviously. I can clear this post up later in more depth if you wish

The Fair Tax is one of the most brilliant policy proposals that I have seen in my lifetime.

I predict that support will steadily increase in the next 15 years, particularly if Obama is elected, and that we will see the Fair Tax implemented shortly afterward. There is very little argument against it except for "we need class warfare" which isn't really a justified argument.

I love the idea of a fair tax i want to end the class warfare. Every progressive should m,y poblem with it is im not sure how well it will work which is a problem and ive heard problems with it and middle class familises not sure what that was all about.

You should read The FairTax Book, by Neal Boortz and John Linder. The whole thing is incredibly well researched and the argument for it is practically flawless.
