a mechanism by which they can make you pay for violations (the University can bill you for it and keep you from registering for classes or having transcripts released until you pay traffic tickets). The UN is both unwilling, and incapable, of enforcing their dictates because they allow all countries, even those which are fascist human rights abusers, to have equal say.

So then how useful is an organization that cannot enforce policies. And do we really want a world organization that enforces polies on nations. I place the Constitution above UN resolutions. Why? How can American citizens vote out a member of the UN if they do not like how it is being led? So we have to live by UN rules, but we have no system of checks and balances, and no way of voting members out of the UN if we do not like those rules. So should the UN have that power to enforce rules. I don't know about you but I am pretty wary of a world organization that has power like that. As long as we do nothing to subvert the US Constitution I am good with breaking UN resolutions. Can I blame another nations for breakign resolutions? No. But they better be prepared to reap the consequences if their reasons for breaking that resolution conflicts with our security and human rights.
