No, sir. We will not invade/bomb/occupy NK a second before China gives it's blessing. Believe it.
Well if we were smart about it, we would allow S.Korea to lead the way into the North that way it would not seem as if the invasion is being lead by the US. S.Korea alone has the ability to defeat the N.Korean military.

I think you give the North to much credit. Nukes do little good without the ability to use them. They don't have the ability to drop a nuke from an aircraft or mount one on top of a missile. They would not dare use one during wartime unless they intend on killing N.Korean troops fighting against S.Korean troops.

Yes it was tried back in the 1950s and the NK were defeated. The only time China intervene at that time was because the US forces under Gen. MacArthur invaded China by crossing to Yalu river that borders China and Korea. Also, the USA President, Pres. Truman have no stomach to expand the war any further and was satisfy to give NK back to NK communist and PRC. Instead of securing NK and force the PRC into a stalement, Pres. Truman gave NK back to them.

This time, I believe that China will not interfere as long as the USA will be willing to give something up in return and that is mediate in the reunification of Taiwan with the mainland. China does not want to be an enemy of the USA in as much as possible they want to be an ally.

China has no problem with SOuth Korea in fact NK is more of a liability then an asset to China. NK is so poor that doing business with NK is useless. China has nothing to gain because all of China's trade with NK are IMO IOU or subsidies how long China can afford to subsidised NK is just a matter of time.

The long term picture will be more advantageous to China for Korea to be united under the Republic of Korea trade will increase and stability will be better.

you're willing to bet how many million lives on this belief that they can't deliver a nuke??? is this from the same US intelligence that said Saddam had WMD?

I don't think the North will give a crap how many of their own soldiers are killed...and the target would be Seoul...

Conventional warfare with the norks is unrealistic, Nuclear warfare with them leads to nuclear warfare with China, quite possibly.

The only tenable way to deal with this is diplomatic or economic pressure on China. The norks are the client state of the Chinese. Anything they do is with the permission of the chinese, IMO.

If they did something crazy like actually lobbed a missile at us, we'd have to flatten them, god forbid. That could easily lead to a world war.

why would N Korea lobe a nuke at anyone? they have an extreme leader but not stupid he knows as do his Genereals such an act is suicidal...

and there was such a twist of events that it did happen it wouldn't be a World War, unless the USA struck first I doubt China would get involved...

I'm a little dubious on his capability to do so.

I'm really not sure what Lil Kim the angry dwarf is up to. He's obviously looking for something. But I'm darned if I know what.

North Korea is China's client state, and since a nuke doesn't know borders, what happens in Norkland can drift over to China. They'd have a big say, a big one.

I imagine we'd do the same if someone nuked Canada and maybe even Mexico.

They can't deliver a nuke at this time. Will that change, yes.

Do I think they care for their own, no. But they do care for their military. It is the only thing that keeps the South from liberating the North.
