There are nine layers in the pdf, none of them fake, all of them automatically generated by the MAC scanning software that optimized the image for posting on-line.

It is an absolutely authentic image of an absolutely authentic birth certificate.

As the only genuine digital image forensics expert who has ever commented on the certificate has noted:

(D)igital document analysis can detect manipulation, but it cannot determine whether the original subject is authentic. The authenticity can only be determined by the State of Hawaii, and they already said that it is authentic.
