Psh, back in my day we had to walk to work uphill both ways in the snow. I'm kidding of course, it never snows here.

Since everyone buying oil must do so using the dollar, you could argue that a higher price per barrel means they have to buy more dollars. Thus, offsetting inflation by some amount. Then again, I make this comment without doing any real research so take it for what it's worth. Just throwing it out there.

I see tons of SUVS, RVS and 4x4s with bikes and cargo going away for the weekends with the whole family. Tons of idiots driving huge trucks that make loud noises and stupid people with expeditions and HUGE cargos. If you have nothing to do, please stay home now because i'm paying 4.15 a gallon. Man i'm pissed. sorry.
I filled my car up and I paid around $1.50 per litre. You are not the only ones suffering.

My complain has to do with everything. I cross the border a lot. And I see hundreds and hundreds of people driving inefficient vehicles. Huge SUV's, Trucks, Limos, etc. Most of them full of stuff in the back going to mexico to travel and hogging the border waits to 4 hours on the weekends...then here in san diego on a regular day, from kearny Mesa to Carlsbad to everywhere you go, you see these idiots driving these huge cars that don't belong in the roads anymore. they are paying the oil companies more money only because they refuse to stay home...instead, they decide to pack their trucks with 4x4 buggies and motorcross equipemt to go offroading. what? are these people rich or something? who has the money to fill up their offroad equipment with gas anyway? it's annoying..

I do my best, I drive carefully, I get 36mpg with my hyundai sonata. I do my part.

That is because your govenmenrt is an all consuming socialist monster that rapes you with tyrranically high taxation and then uses the bull (*)(*)(*)(*) global warming to trick you into accepting it. Your own govvernment is raping you at the pump. How does it feel?

Here in Ontario we had an additional gas tax slapped on consumers back in mid 90s during a temporare phase when gas was cheap. The reasoning the provincial government used was environmental in nature i.e. higher taxes on cheap crude will make drivers drive less and cut down on pollution. Nowadays when the price of crude seems by itself to impose limits on driving, is there any talk of repealing the old environmental tax? God forbids! Repealing old taxes is a mortal sin irrespective of their original purpose.

You should do more. You and all of you people with high-MPG cars need to drive less or even ride bikes or walk to save gas. The gas you don't use needs to go to those poor low-MPG car drivers who need it more than you.

You can get by on a few fewer 30+ mile gallons of gas. If you really cared, you'd let some more of it go to the people who can only get 3-5 miles out of each gallon. They are the ones who really need it.

haha, entertaining stuff. I agree with you to some extent that it has gone to far over here. But at the same time I can appreciate the fact that we get free healthcare and higher education for our tax dollars.

Personally though, Id rather have higher sale/consumption taxes on certain items than higher income or corporate taxes.

The goverment should imo lead its people to make better choices. Right now in norway we have a rising obesity epidemic among young people. I have no problem with the goverment taxing sugary crap food at a higher rate, just like with tobacco or alchohol. This could be followed up with lower taxes on fruits and veggies for instance.

I'm sure that all the people who work in the travel and recreation industry support your viewpoint.

I know if I worked at a KOA Campground somewhere, or a motorcycle repair shop, or a Winnebago RV dealer, I'd be wishing all the people would just sit at home and do nothing!

BTW - Part of the reason you're paying $4.15/gallon is because of where you choose to live. Out here in the heartland, away from the influence of CARB - the California Air Resources Board - we're paying $3.34/gallon.
