Thread: Why don't women rape?

  1. Default Why don't women rape?

Not really political, so let's have it here.

    Here is what we know.

Women can be violent, often just as much as men, even more in some cases.

Women are capable of murder, including that of their own or strange kids.

Women are capable of domestic violence, much more so than you are told in the media.

Women have even been culpable of sex crimes against minors.

Yet, never ever have I heard of women convicted of the sexual assault/rape of a man, or indeed, another women.

Okay, I suppose if we root around the net, we may find one exception to the rule. but I am pretty sure that if you did a poll inside female prisons, there would be almost no one there for those two particular offences.

I am interested to try to learn why that might be?

Now, the most obvious answer is that women are not perceived to have the same physical advantage as men.

That is true in many cases, but certainly not all.

There are large and strong women out there, who could likely overpower many men, imo.

So we can rule that out, esp as one need not even rely on force anyway, if they were of a mind to do such a heinous thing.

    What else can it be...

That women 'think' of sex differently?

Well, okay, but what does that really mean? It doesn't really specify. If it is the old thing about men being driven by the physical side and women the emotional, I feel that is flawed, on both counts.

So, not sure that can be the reason either.

You may argue that there would be (shall we say), practical problems, in a female committing rape on a man, but not really, not when you think about it.

Plus I did say, on a man OR even a women.

It is said the psyche of rape is related to dominance, but it cannot be that women are all shrinking violets, as that most surely is not true, there are women who have dominant and aggressive personalties.

    Your thoughts?

I think men raping comes from a need to provide stimulus for that "male dominancy" instinct. Its just when guys go crazy, and they feel the need to control. Women don't possess that same animal instinct. Or so I would guess. IN a word: testosterone.

But women can be aggressive and culpable of other types of sexual offences.

    As outlined in the OP.

Sure. ANYONE can be ANYTHING. I think what I am trying to say is that some stereotypes exist for a reason...

Why would the man or other women be willing?

A woman can go just about anywhere and find male interest. I believe a woman would have a harder time finding a man to rape than a man to have sex with her willingly. If you're looking for the same compulsory behavior, it may exist but manifest itself in different ways.

Men are the predators, women are the prey.

Men have sex for sex's sake, women usually need to have feelings for the person. For women who have feelings rape certainly happens, consensual of course. Think BDSM.

    Because men "don't" get raped.
