Hi, I am new to this political forum. I am not new to writing political messages. In fact, since 1999 I have written over 2000 political essays. Currently, I write in the Libertarian-oriented forum known as PEOPLESFORUM.COM. I write the topic Liberalism versus Conservatism. Within that topic I have a number of subtopics. Most of them are related to politics, but there are some that are more my personal thoughts on a wide variety of subjects, such as religion, horse racing, psychic phenomena, reincarnation, and more.

Since this is a political forum, I would like to post some of my best political thoughts here on a forum that seems to be principally dedicated to politics. I have made an attempt to bring logic and precision to political thought. The waters have been muddied too long by hacky uneducated radio talking heads representing power interests. For example, we have the Fox Nutwork Rupert Murdock clowns, Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hume, and a host of other morons who would not know a conservative or a liberal position, if it sat on their faces. I have particular disdain for this bunch of paid political whores for the Australian Murdock who has used his media empire to pollute the world. Murdock loved Nixon. That should tell everyone something about his diseased mind.

On the other hand, I do not mind the CNN Air America guys like Al Franken, Ed Schultz (or is it Shultz), Randy Rhodes, and more. They do not have an accurate idea of what it means to have a liberal or conservative position any more than the Murdock bunch. However, they represent an honest attempt to fix the ills of America caused by a lying deceptive administration that has caused the deaths of many innocent victims. Generally, I have little respect for the popular media with the exception of Ted Turner's CNN. Apparently, Turner is in the business of news to attempt to make a better world.

This post is an introduction that is designed to give viewers an idea of my mindset. Viewers of this forum should know that I am a voracious reader who researches diligently before making opinions. All of my opinions are based on facts. Facts always come first and then the opinion follows. Too often airheaded posters make opinions with no palpable way of supporting their opinion. I never do that.

I love political thought but my educational background is mathematics. I earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Wayne State University in 1975. Subsequently, I spent a career of 21 years working for the Department of Defense as an applied mathematician computer modeler. My official job title was Senior Operations Research Analyst. I retired in 1997 at the age of 58 and taught mathematics as a fill-in professor at the University of Detroit Mercy for one year after retirement. I hated that year and had no interest in spending one more day at the UDM after that experience. The UDM is a disaster site for higher education. No one should ever think of enrolling there. Again, I have many good reasons for this opinion which at some point I might clarify. If anyone wants to understand my thoughts on higher education in mathematics, then visit the Peoplesforum.com and check out the subtopic on higher education.

If anyone wishes to know more details of my career, you are invited to visit my website INTERJETIC.COM. There, you will find a number of my professional research articles in both pure and applied mathematics. Also, my biography is hyperlinked on one of the pages as ACADBIO.

I hope to post some of my best political thoughts at least once per week on the average. Many of them will be posted in the PEOPLESFORUM.COM, too. You are urged to visit my topic in that forum. I have written about 1300 essay/messages on politics in the Politics and Government section in the topic, Liberalism versus Conservatism.

Please excuse any typos, grammatic errors, spelling errors, and awkward wordy sentences. I do not have time to edit anything that I write due to my very busy life that is going at a hectic pace. I write as I talk without hesitating to think out sentence structure. Probably, this makes my writing easier to read than most.

Feel free to contact me.

Welcome! I'm a moderator here, so a couple of notes:

1. I split your post out into a separate thread so as not to clutter up PF's welcome message.

2. Essays are welcome, but keep in mind this is a discussion board. Please be prepared to discuss your essays with other posters, instead of simply posting your opinions in a one-way communication.

Hope you enjoy the site!

Default Thanks for giving me thoughts on how this forum works...

I see little difference in the way this forum works compared to the PEOPLESFORUM.COM. However, this forum probably has many more folks interested in politics. Very few of the participants in the PEOPLESFORUM.COM are interested in politics. Sports seems to be the major interest, there.

My own philosophy is that the blogosphere is a place to write the diary of your thoughts in an open public way where anyone can give their opinion on them. I usually am polite in my responses unless someone starts with impolite behavior.

I began blogging (web logging) in about 1998 on the defunct GLOBE.COM. That forum was a mixed bag of all ages and opinions. I found many more political activists who were willing to enter in debate or simply make comments in the Globe.com. That was no doubt because there were more political activists in that forum. It is my hope that a forum with the title: POLITICALFORUM.COM is a closer match to the defunct GLOBE.COM. That is why I decided to post some thoughts here.

I do not write short messages. I tend to give supporting facts for almost all opinions. That takes words. Anyone who just likes to spit out one liners with no substance is a waste of my time and I will not stay around a forum long that has nothing but sniping idiots. Time will tell whether this forum is good for me.

Hopefully, I will find more energetic discussion than in the PEOPLESFORUM.COM which seems to be struggling to pay it's bills despite the many financial contributors like myself. Somebody has to pay the bill. It should be the folks who are getting something good out of the forum. I do not mind that. I am well off. So, the forum has to fit my way of blogging or I drop out. Again, thanks for your moderator's views. Hopefully, they are compatible with mine.
